Veterinary Assistant

Growing up, I always had dogs in the house, and sometimes cats as well. Veterinary medicine wasn't always my field of choice, but as I got closer to college, I decided this is the field I would like to be in to help animals live long healthy lives. My animals have always been a huge part of my life, and in the last few years have been able to come to work with me and tag along to my baseball games.

I graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at St. Lawrence College in 2008. I joined the Barriefield team in February 2007 for a high school co-op. When I was not doing my co-op hours, I was running the boarding facility. I enjoy learning and helping clients with behaviour and nutrition. I enjoy educating the clients and seeing new and old fur-friends. It's always great watching them grow and mature over the years.

I lead a very busy active life outside of work with my two Labradors, Easton and Synergy. We are always at a ball diamond in the summer and volleyball in the winter. If there happens to be a day we have no sports, we are usually taking pictures. This is a hobby of mine and thankfully, my fur-kids give me lots of opportunities to photograph their personalities. In combination with this, we also work on our training.

Why Adopt a Senior Dog?

I love puppies and dogs of all ages, but I would have to say after adopting two senior dogs, I would not hesitate to adopt another.
