Registered Veterinary Technician

I knew I wanted to be in the veterinary field since I was quite young, as animals were very important to me. When I was 15-years-old, I started working at a local veterinary clinic and I was hooked. After I had my children, I decided to go back to school and make it official. I graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2011 with distinction.

A registered veterinary technician position at Barriefield Animal Hospital became available about a month before I graduated. I was very fortunate to be offered this position and I have been loving it here ever since.

I love anesthesia, analgesia, surgery, and cytology, and helping the animals and clients. My favourite part of my job is, of course, the animals! What makes it even better is the group of people I work with. They are like family to me and I look forward to working with them every day. Our veterinarians practice excellent medicine and go above and beyond to make sure every patient gets what they need. I am very proud of that!
